Turangga Farm

Inglis Easter is promoted as the “Best of the Best’. How do you rate your draft this year”

“This is a good draft and one we are very proud of. It has been described by various trainers, bloodstock agents, and visitors as our best ever Easter draft.

“That’s no surprise when they have been raised at Turangga. They have been reared in the usual bone and muscle Turangga tradition.” Stuart said.

John also gave us some of his thoughts.

How did you get your start in the industry?
“It’s a family business. I was raised with horses and cattle. Don’t ask me any questions unless it’s about what drinks water and eats grass!”

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
“This came from Bart Cummings – put a plan in place and stick to it.”

If there is one person you could invite for dinner, who would it be?
“Prince Harry. He’d be a bit of fun I reckon.”

How have the huge increases in prizemoney, particularly in NSW, affected racing in your area?
“The racing is better. Country trainers and owners can afford better quality horses. It’s all very positive.”

What has been your highlight this year?
“On a personal level, it’s been getting War Hero back, getting him right and winning. Very satisfying.”

This will be the last Inglis sale at historic Newmarket. What is your favourite memory there?
“I led Able Friend through the ring and to then see him go on and become the great horse that he is.”

What is your favourite holiday destination?
“Any quiet beach where I can kick back and relax.”

Is there some place that you haven’t yet visited, but would love to ?
“The Kimberleys.”

What is your favourite music?
“Country music.”

What sports do you like to watch on tv?
“League, Union, Cricket, most sports – but not golf!”

Stuart also gave us his thoughts on the draft as individuals.
