Plenty of choice for astute buyers
WITH top class performers like Gr.1 winners I Am A Star and Super One coming off Mike and Kate Fleming’s Bhima property, astute buyers should be flocking to the stud’s Magic Millions National Sale draft. Another raised at the historic Scone stud is Magic Millions graduate Rome (Pierro), a promising two year-old who is dual Gr.3 placed from four starts this season.
Bhima is bringing a large draft to the Magic Millions National Sales with 23 weanlings, 12 yearlings, and 40 broodmares. Mike Fleming spoke to Bluebloods about their consignment.
“Once again, Bhima will be using our Kick Sales Platform on our website to allow buyers to access full research information about every lot we are offering at the Magic Millions National Sales. Buyers can log in to access records such as horse owner and breeder, horse history, extensive pedigree information, x-ray reports provided by two veterinarians, scope reports, dam progeny records and links to race replays.
“The Magic Millions National Sales, across weanlings, yearlings, racing stock, and broodmares, continues to grow as a sale, and our clients are keen to send horses to a successful auction. Selling with Bhima as a vendor allows our clients to utilise this technology to attract buyers because it gives them a one stop shop for research information.”
WITH 23 weanlings on offer, Bhima’s draft gives buyers a huge range of pinhooking opportunities, and with all x-ray and other pertinent research information available in one easy location, much of the work has been done for buyers before they start their inspections.
Sires represented in this draft include All Too Hard, Animal Kingdom, Belardo, Dissident, Dundeel, Kiss and Make Up, Lonhro, Maurice, Real Impact, Scissor Kick, So You Think, Street Boss, Territories, and Zoustar.
Among the pedigree highlights are Lot 322, a half-brother to Karaka Million winner Hardline; Lot 628, a half-brother to Listed winner Jackofall; Lot 510, a half-brother to stakes placed winner Rare Occurrence; and Lot 398, a Zoustar filly out of a half-sister to Gr.1 winner Rollout the Carpet.
WITH 12 yearlings on offer, the sires represented include Brazen Beau, Deep Field, Ferlax, Holy Roman Emperor, Myboycharlie, Not a Single Doubt, Rubick, Scissor Kick, Showcasing, and So You Think. A half-brother by So You Think to stakes winners Ready for Victory and Exocet is Lot 2055, and he is from the family of Rubiton.
Lot 2098 is a sister to Group placed Intrigue, while Lot 2172 is a Deep Field colt from Listed winner Lisson Grove. A colt by Not a Single Doubt, Lot 2343, is out of stakes winner Warpath (Reset), and is a half-brother to stakes horses Alkaashef and Rotator.
BHIMA will present 40 broodmares for sale and one of the highlights of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale would have to be Bhima’s offering, Lot 912, Nuclear Blitz, who is a winning Sepoy mare out of a half-sister to the mighty champion Winx.
This family needs no introduction as Winx is a half-sibling to Group winner El Divino and is out of juvenile stakes winner Vegas Showgirl. Nuclear Blitz showed some of the family’s speed when fourth in the Listed VRC Talindert Stakes.
Among the 13 other race fillies and maiden mares on offer are two winning Fastnet Rock mares, Lot 834, Downloads (fourth in the Blue Diamond Preview-Gr.3) and Lot 829, Dental (from the Eight Carat family). Group placed race mares Dream First (Lot 836), Mamzelle Tess (Lot 895), and Somethingvain (Lot 958) provide good opportunities for buyers looking for race performance, while also in that category is Lot 936, Rubira, a Listed winner in New Zealand.
Bhima’s draft includes broodmares served by Almanzor, American Pharoah, Capitalist, Deep Field, Dundeel, Frosted, Hellbent, Iffraaj, Lonhro, Maurice, Merchant Navy, Nicconi, Pariah, Savabeel, Scissor Kick, Sebring, Shalaa, Wandjina, Written Tycoon, and Zoustar.
Buyers wanting immediate black type should consider the likes of Gr.2 winner Merlene De Lago, dam of stakes winner Burnstone. She is Lot 1372 and is in foal to Maurice. The dam of stakes winner Sir Frenchie is Volando, Lot 1677, and she is in foal to Royal Ascot Gr.1 winner Merchant Navy. Bella Gioia, Lot 1021, is a young mare carrying her first foal to Savabeel, and she was a two year-old winner who ran second in the New Zealand 1000 Guineas-Gr.1.
Her dam has left four stakes horses and this is a family on the move. Royal Fashion, Lot 1518, is a Group placed Snitzel half-sister to Alpine Eagle and Every Faith and is in foal to Sebring. The Gr.3 winner Pretty Pins, Lot 1474, a half-sister to Gr.1 winner Allez Wonder and closely related to Gr.1 winner Tivaci, is in foal to Shalaa.
With all the information about every horse in the Bhima draft available on Bhima’s research facility online, buyers looking at this large and impressive draft can arrive at the Magic Millions sale ground with plenty of data to assist them in making good buying decisions.
